a Shakespearean comedy
about love, music, gender, and hijinks
Bring a picnic, grab a drink from the bar, and enjoy a summer evening of live theatre outdoors at the beautiful Clara Meer Dock in Piedmont Park.
This production of "Twelfth Night" will be presented entirely for FREE, because Shakespeare should be accessible and enjoyable for all!
Good morrow!
My name is Cait Cortelyou
...and I've been a Shakespeare nerd since I performed in my first play - Hamlet - at the age of 8 with the Young Shakespeare Players of Madison, WI. Since then, I've acted in over a dozen full length Shakespeare plays (including Twelfth Night three times) in venues across the country. I studied Shakespeare performance with Juilliard professors, at the Tony Award-winning O'Neill Theatre Center, and for two weeks with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as in lecture form at Columbia University.
Upon moving to Atlanta in October 2020, I was inspired by the beautiful outdoor spaces that just seemed to be begging to have some good theatre created for them. While I don't have the resources (yet!) of the iconic Joseph Papp, I too dream of bringing free and fantastic Shakespeare in the Park to the already thriving arts community of Atlanta.
Directing this production of my favorite Shakespeare comedy means the world to me - and I can't wait to share it with all of you!

Our Goal
This free outdoor production of Shakespeare's comedy Twelfth Night will be performed at the Clara Meer Dock of Piedmont Park, with audition and rehearsal space kindly loaned by the Alliance Theatre, for which Cait leads a free weekly artist workshop.
Performances will be at 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays from July 22 - August 6.
The current outstanding budget for this production is $40,632 - these funds will cover the cost of the venue rental, costumes, microphones, props, and especially paying the cast and creative team. A detailed line-item budget is available upon request.
All donations made are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law, thanks to fiscal sponsorship under the umbrella of Fractured Atlas.
Thank you for your contribution to the magic of theatre!
